My newborn photography aims to capture the authentic, the natural, the timeless aspects of parenting a newborn.

I have trained under the amazingly talented Ana Brandt (www.anabrandt.com), Natalie Buck (https://www.nataliebuckphotography.com) and Eden Bao (https://www.edenbaophotography.com).  In addition, I have participated in the Milky Way Newborn and Maternity Retreat.  These photographers have set the bar high and have inspired me to new levels of challenges and opportunities within my newborn and maternity sessions.

Family members are encouraged to take part in the newborn session.   As a mom to two children myself, I understand first-hand the excitement of a child when promoted to big sibling, and actively seek out bigger siblings during the photo shoot.  I am thrilled to include them in meaningful and safe ways that reflect their growing bond with their new siblings.  Extended family as well as housebroken furry family members are welcome for my premium and all-inclusive packages as well!

With all of my sessions, I follow the newborn's lead in using poses that are comfortable for the baby and that he/she naturally enjoys.  As such, my posing is gentle, capturing exactly who your baby is.  We work with the newborn's schedule, pausing whenever necessary for diapers, feedings, etc.  I do not guarantee specific poses but will use the baby's natural inclinations as well as your preferred images from my newborn gallery in developing our session.  My goal is to capture your child at this moment in time.

I offer three packages for newborns to meet the needs of a variety of clients.  My most popular newborn package is my premium package.  This package runs up to 2.5-3 hours in length and includes a full edited preview gallery as well as your favourite 20 images from this gallery. The session includes both newborn solo posed and sibling/parent images, as well as both wrapped and implied naked images.  This package is truly perfect for families wanting to capture the newborn in solo shots as well as family, mom & me, dad & me and sibling moments.  Housebroken canine family members are welcome to join in this package as well.

I also offer a basic package for parents who are excited about newborn photography but who don't want or need as many images. This package focuses on the newborn in a variety of wrapped poses, and may include some family and sibling shots as time and the baby allow.  Roughly 1.5-2 hours in length, this session includes the full edited preview gallery and your favourite 12 images; this package is $500 + GST.  For families who would like to include an older sibling and/or sibling shots, I strongly encourage you to consider the premium package to ensure that we have adequate timing for the variety of different shots you need.

In addition, my premium package is an amazing package to ensure you don't miss out on any of your newborn's moments. This session is up to 3 hours of photography and includes a variety of props and beanbag poses as well as family and sibling portraits.  After the session, you will receive a full edited preview gallery and your favourite 20 images - all for $675 + GST.  Housebroken canine family members are welcome to join in this package as well.  Please visit my investment page for more information on these session options.

All newborn clients have the option to add-on a maternity session to their newborn package.  Please visit my maternity gallery and see my maternity page for more information.  (Due to the focus of my work on small children and families, I do not offer maternity sessions as stand-alone sessions.)

 

If your baby is past the 7-21 day mark, I offer "not-so-newborn" sessions geared for slightly older babies.  These sessions take advantage of the more alert, stronger and full of smiles baby between 21-80 days of age, while using many of the same props and outfits as my true newborns.  If your baby is in this age range and you're still seeking newborn photos, please do reach out!  Pricing for these sessions is the same as for my three newborn packages above.  Please visit my investment page for more information on these session options.

If this sounds appealing to you, please feel free to reach out.  I offer newborn sessions out of my Ladner studio on weekday mornings, and routinely book up at least 3 months in advance.  As such, I recommend sending me a "save the date" during your second or third trimester.  We will confirm the specific date and time after the baby has arrived; clients (or their spouse/family) must contact me within 48 hours of the birth to notify me of the baby's birth and set up our confirmed session time.   All of the dates that we consider are planned with the best interests of your little one in mind.  As well, if you have concerns about your child or the date as it approaches, please reach out - I will do likewise if I have concerns over illness on our end of things.  I am a mom, first and foremost, and am committed to making the session as wonderful of an experience for you as I can.
